Geatish Society
The Götiska Förbundet ( Gothic Confederation) was an association of Swedish writers, who wanted to bring the spirit of Nordic mythology in the first half of the 19th century.
The main founding members (with their Nordic names ) were:
- Jacob Adlerbeth ( Rolf, 1785-1844 )
- Erik Gustaf Geijer ( Einar, 1783-1847 ), Swedish writer
- Esaias Tegnér ( Bodwar Bjarke, 1782-1846 ), Swedish poet
- Pehr Henrik Ling ( Bosi, 1776-1839 ), Swedish poet and author
When Jacob Adlerbeth, the driving force of the Gothic federal, died in 1844, the federal government was formally dissolved. The books collected over the years were the Kungliga och Vitterhets History Antikvitets academies paid (Royal Academy of scholarship, history and antiques).
There is a second Götiska Förbundet, which still exists in contrast to the literary covenant today. The objective of both is similar, but they have nothing to do with each other.
