Gehazi

Gehazi was a servant of the biblical prophet Elisha. We learn from him in the second book of the kings between 2 Kings and 2 Kings 4 8

Elisha's servant

Gehazi occurs in just a few stories of Elisha, in the stories of the Shunammite and in the Naamanerzählung. Otherwise, the servant of Elisha always remains nameless. Gehazi probably resisted intrusive visitors from speaking in order for the Prophet with petitioners, boasts of its acts or advises him.

Although Elisha Gehazi instructed to awaken the dead son of a Shunammite woman to life, it was not possible Gehazi. Only Elisha himself raised the child. With Gehazi's unsuccessful attempt to set the potency of Elisha was underlined.

Under the pretext that his master Elisha two prophets students have come asking Gehazi two silver and two party dresses. When Gehazi later goes back to his master, he is asked by the latter, where he came from. Gehazi replied that he was neither went no whither. But Elisha told him that he had always been in the spirit with him, and that he had the silver, and the clothes and could not afford much, but him and his descendants will stick from now on always the leprosy of Naaman. Gehazi went out and was suffering from leprosy.
