Gehrlicher Solar AG is a German company in the photovoltaic industry with headquarters in Neustadt bei Coburg and administrative headquarters in Dornach near Munich. As a system integrator, designs, builds, finances, maintains and operates Gehrlicher photovoltaic systems on open areas and roofs. The company is also a wholesaler of solar modules, inverters, complete photovoltaic systems as well as self-developed components of the product family " GehrTec ".

History

Today's Gehrlicher Solar AG has its beginnings in the Enersys Energy Systems Gehrlicher, a company that was founded in 1994 by Klaus Gehrlicher. The former areas of activity were photovoltaic, solar thermal and energy consulting. As of 1998, the company focused on increasingly large photovoltaic Ongrid systems. In 1999, the company's activities were transferred to the Gehrlicher environment -friendly energy systems GmbH. As an independent sister company Gehrlicher Solar Management GmbH was founded in 2004. 2007 changed its name Gehrlicher environment -friendly energy systems GmbH in Gehrlicher Solar AG. This increased in 2008 through cooperation with Stadtwerke München in the operation of photovoltaic power generation stations. On 8 July 2013, the company filed for bankruptcy because it was unable to continue to fulfill the conditions of the loan agreement more than 85 million euros with a syndicate of banks. After representation Gehrlicher was the main reason for filing for insolvency, the introduction of punitive tariffs on Chinese solar modules that the company is mainly installed in its facilities. Already in 2012, the company had made significant losses for information the preliminary insolvency administrator Michael Schartl. While the company employed at weddings up to 400 employees, at the time of insolvency, the number of employees had dropped to about 150.
