Géjza Valent

Gejza Valent ( born October 3, 1953 in Prague ) is a former Czech discus thrower, who competed in the 1980s for Czechoslovakia.

In 1982, he was sixth at the European Athletics Championships in Athens, and in 1983 he won the bronze medal at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki.

A fifth place at the European Championships in Stuttgart in 1986 was followed by a ninth in the World Championships 1987 in Rome. At the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, he came to sixth place, and at the European Championships in 1990 in Split, he was ninth.

1987 and 1989 he was national champion. His personal best jump of 69.70 meters he set up in Nitra on 26 August 1984.

Gejza Valent started for the AK Olomouc.
