The Brick Stone in Aue on the nameless mountain

The Brick stone is a rock formation on an unnamed 601 meter high mountain in the Western Erzgebirge Aue at. The rock group is largely covered with trees and located in the southeast of the city between the Mulde and the neighboring Zschorlau. The mountain with the stone masonry is one of the bounding ridges of the wood basin.

Name and Location Description

The name of the rock group is derived from their appearance, because the granite layers fall like a stone wall in several staggered levels, especially to the northeast steep. The vertical walls have typical weathering forms with rounded edges recognize, also called wool sacks. Large parts of the mountain are covered with a dense spruce, pine, beech or oak style. The eastern foothills of the mountain is circled by the river Mulde. On the banks of this river section, there is a loose housing development and some manufacturing plants.

The northern slope is with the settlement houses of the local area Neudörfel ( Aue ) and some allotments opened up, it is limited by the Zschorlaubach.

The western foothills of the brick stone extends into the neighboring Zschorlau.
