Gemini Air Cargo until its bankruptcy in August 2008, an American cargo airline headquartered in Dulles, ( Virginia). She had a worldwide network of scheduled flights, cargo and charter flights on a wet lease basis. Your hubs operating Gemini Air Cargo at the Miami International Airport and John F. History

The airline was founded in December 1995 and started their own first flights on 24 October 1996. Cargo flights were conducted in the first year with three of Sun Country Airlines leased aircraft till you got permission in October 1996 to operate its own aircraft. In July 1999, bought William E. Conway Jr., CEO of the Carlyle Group, the airline. Meanwhile, the Carlyle Group only holds 56 %, other stakeholder, the investment bank Lehman Brothers ( 36%), management with 5% and Oak Tree Capital ( 3%). Gemini Air Cargo employed 2005 412 employees in January. After their insolvency Gemini Air Cargo was acquired in December 2008 by Gemini Worldwide Holdings LLC. The planned resumption of flight operations in June 2009 was not realized.

  • International goals: Brussels, Guayaquil, Hong Kong, Nottingham, Quito, Sapporo, Seoul, Taipei and Medellín, Frankfurt am Main.
