Geographical location
Gemünden ( Felda ) is due to the emanating from the Vogelsberg rivers Felda and Ohm in the region of Upper Hesse on the Middle and Lower Vogelsberg, north west of the " actual" ( High ) Vogelsberg ..
Wide-area Gemünden between casting and Bad Hersfeld. Through the district leads the A5.
Neighboring communities
Gemünden bordered to the northwest of the town of Homberg (Ohm), in the north- east on the town Kirtorf, on the east by the city Romrod, in the southeast on the community Feldatal, and on the southwest by the municipality of mosquito.

The community Gemünden ( Felda ) is composed of seven villages that have been grouped by the merger at the local government reform in 1971 to a large community.

History
On March 14, 1973, the name of the village was changed officially in Gemünden Gemünden ( Felda ).
Incorporations
On December 31, 1971, the castle - towns Gemunden, Ehringhausen, Elpenrod, Hainbach, low - Gemünden, Otterbach and Rülfenrod were merged to form the new municipality Gemünden.
