Genaro García Luna

Genaro García Luna (* July 10, 1968 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican politician and former intelligence officials.

Biography

García Luna studied engineering at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana and graduated in the field of Strategic Planning at the Fakultär of business administration from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México ( UNAM). He is a member of the National Executive Institute (NEI ) and graduated in the United States in the field of law.

From 1989 to 1998 he worked at the Mexican intelligence CISEN and there had been numerous functions. He then until 2000 at the Policía Federal Preventiva ( Federal Preventive Police ) chief coordinator for intelligence prevention, as of 2000 Director General for Planning and Operations and from 2001 first Director General in November realigned Agencia Federal de Investigaciones the Procuraduría General de la República. This office he held until 2006.

In December of the same year he became Secretary of Homeland Security and Director of the Secretaría de Seguridad Pública in the Cabinet Felipe Calderón Hinojosa. For his intelligence and police intelligence activities he has won several awards.
