Genco Gulan

Genco Gulan (also Genco Gülan, born 1969 in Turkey ) is a contemporary Turkish conceptual artist and theorist.

Life and work

He lives and works in Istanbul, New York and Frankfurt am Main. His conceptual work examines the relationship between society and culture through painting and sculpture, and new media, performance art and installation.

He studied Political Science and Art at Boğaziçi University, Istanbul, and is a graduate of the Master New School, New York. Gulan attracted mainly by the political aspects of his work quite a stir.

Gülans work has been shown in the MAM in Rio de Janeiro, the Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe, at the Triennale di Milano, the Biennial of Tehran, at the Centre Pompidou, Paris and at the Duisburg accents at the Pera Museum in Istanbul.
