Geneva ( German: Geneva ) is a city in the Chicago metropolitan area and the administrative seat of Kane County in the north of the U.S. state of Illinois. In 2000, the city had 19,515 inhabitants in an area of 22.2 km ². Geneva is located on the Fox River. Neighboring municipalities are Batavia, St. Charles and West Chicago. Mayor Kevin Burns. Geneva has a hospital named Delnor Community Hospital.

History

The area of present-day Geneva was settled at least since the 17th century to the early 19th century only by Indian tribes. The first white settlers could be from around 1830 down there. 1836 Geneva for County Seat was charged.

Since 1887, Geneva is a city. First mayor was James Herrington, son of the founder.

The city of Geneva is located on the Fox River, the Falls in neighboring Wisconsin springs near Menomonee and opens at Ottawa in the Illinois River. Other waters in Geneva are of Mill Creek, a small stream and the unlucky Lake.
