Genillé is a commune with 1613 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the Indre- et- Loire in the Centre region.

Geography

The community Genillé on Indrois, a 69 km long tributary of the Indre is located 40 kilometers south-east of Tours.

History

Genillé is an ancient city, whose name first appeared in the 7th century on coins from the Merovingian time.
