Genitofemoral nerve

The ulnar genitofemoralis (from Latin genus "gender" and femur " thigh ") is a mixed sensorimotor peripheral nerve. It is clear from the first two roots of the lumbar portion of the lumbosacral plexus and supplied parts of the thigh and of the external genitalia. The nerve divides into two branches: genital branch and ramus femoralis.

Genital branch

The genital branch is also called the spermatic nerve externus. It draws the inside of the abdominal wall to the inguinal canal and passes through this to the outside. It supplies the skin of the groin and the scrotum or the labia majora ( absent in animals ) sensitive and the musculus cremaster ( testicles lift ) motor. In animals, it provides the skin of the udder or the mammary groin.

Ramus femoralis

Ramus femoral also referred to as nerve lumboinguinalis. He pulls the femoral artery and vein through the lacuna vasorum to the inside of the thigh. It supplies the hull near inner thigh sensitive.

In carnivores, the ramus femoralis missing here take branches of the genital branch the corresponding innervation.
