Genlisea repens

Genlisea repens is a carnivorous species of the genus Reuse traps ( Genlisea ), which was first described in 1847.

Description

This semi -aquatic species has narrow dark green, slightly rounded leaves. The hairless, usually dark brown flower stalk is about 3 to 10 cm long and bears small yellow flowers with a long, pointed spur. This species is Genlisea pygmaea very similar, but the inflorescence of Genlisea repens turns reddish- brown, while the mostly remains of Genlisea pygmaea green. A further distinguishing feature is the elongated underground stem.

Dissemination

This type is mainly found in shallow waters of South America. The countries of Brazil, Venezuela, Guyana, Paraguay, and Suriname can count on their native flora the Genlisea repens.
