Gennady Gagulia

Gennadi Gagulija ( Abkhaz Геннадии Леонид - иҧа Гагәлиа / Gennadii Leonid - ipa Gagulija, Russian Геннадий Леонидович Гагулия / Gennadi Leonidovich Gagulija; born January 4, 1948 in Lychny at Gudauta, Soviet Union ) is an Abkhaz politician. From 1995 to 1997 and 2002 to 2003 he was Prime Minister of the unrecognized Republic of Abkhazia.

Gennadi Gagulija studied from 1966 bus 1972 at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Byelorussian University of Technology in Minsk and is by profession a civil engineer. From 1972 to 1974 he worked in the operating Pizundastroi in Gudauta. After that he worked as a chief engineer in a different construction operations. From 1977 he was deputy director of a catering business on Riza lake. 1991 Gagulija began his political position as Chairman of the State Committee for Foreign Trade Ministers of the Abkhazian ASSR. As of November 1992, he was Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Abkhazia and 1995-1997 first head of government. After his resignation, for health reasons he had stated, among other things, he was an employee of a Member of the Russian State Duma and chairman of the Abkhazian Industry and Commerce. From 2002 to 2003 he was again Prime Minister of Abkhazia and then head of the Abkhaz presidential administration. In June 2004 he resigned from this office. The basic differences between him and the then President Vladislav Ardzinba about its successor will be accepted. Gagulija is currently playing head of the Commerce and Industry Chamber.
