Genus plc. is a British biotechnology company engaged in the business field animal breeding. The head office is in Basingstoke, Hampshire. Genus is now represented in over 30 countries, with laboratories in Madison ( Kentucky / USA), and Cambridge / UK. The company is listed on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange. CEO is Richard Wood, chairman John Hawkins.
Divisions
- PIC International: Founded in 1962, one of the world's largest companies for Swine Genetics (pig ), the world's numerous subsidiaries
- ABS Global: Founded in 1941, one of the world's leading cattle genetics (dairy and beef cattle ), offices in ten countries (USA, UK, Australia, Brasiluen, Canada, Chile, France, Ireland, Italy and Mexico).
- SyAqua: Founded in 2002 in the U.S., aquaculture company, the largest supplier of breeding animals for the crabs ( shrimp ) production, with operations in Thailand, Mexico and Brazil.
Another non -core business participation is Animal Care Limited, Head Office: Dunnington, York.
