Georg Altner
Ernst Georg Altner ( born December 4, 1901 in Waldheim, † April 12, 1945 in Dortmund) was a member of parliament of the NSDAP, SS brigade leader and from 1942 to 1945 chief of police in Dortmund.
Life
Altners father was a prison sergeant. Georg Altner visited in 1908 the primary school and the Real Progymnasium in Waldheim, which he left in 1917 with the completion of secondary school leaving certificate. Between 1917 and 1919 he served an apprenticeship in a machine shop and simultaneously attended the laboratory in Mittweida, but he left without a degree. 1919 and 1920 he worked as a fitter and turner in Waldheim, from 1921 to 1933 then as a foreman in civil engineering and a site office in Halle ( Saale). After the " seizure of power" of the Nazis Georg Altner was from March 5 to October 14, 1933 the Prussian Landtag, and then on November 12, 1933 member of the meaningless in the time of National Socialism Reichstag.
As of July 22, 1933 Altner took over full time the command of SS - Section XVI in Halle ( Saale), before switching on March 20, 1934 in the same function to SS Section VII to Königsberg. On 12 April 1935 he was transferred as a staff leader for SS Upper Section West to Stuttgart. As of September 22, 1938 Altner police chief of Plauen, after he had previously been added to incorporate the SS Upper Section West in Dusseldorf.
Since 1934 Altner had participated in military exercises and was promoted to lieutenant of the reserve. As of May 1940, Altner involved as leader of a pioneer company in the western campaign and was seriously wounded on 15 June 1940. Altner awarded the Iron Cross Second Class and the Wound Badge in Black.
Already seconded the end of 1941 at the police headquarters Dortmund, Altner was posted on January 14, 1942 Chief of Police of Dortmund and at the same time the leader of the local criminal investigation. On January 1, 1941, he had been promoted to SS Brigade Commander and Major General of the Police. When invasion of the allies, Georg Altner shot at Dortmund Rombergpark.
