George Balfour (Conservative MP)

George Balfour (* November 30, 1872, † September 26, 1941 ) was a Scottish engineer, entrepreneur and Member of Parliament House of Commons.

Life

George Balfour founded on January 12, 1909 with Andrew Beatty Balfour Beatty plc, the company with a registered capital of 50,000 GBP. The first headquarters was 22a College Hill near the Cannon St Station in London. It should be a "Company of Engineering, operator of rail and lighting systems as well as the promotion of new enterprises ."

Based in Germany, the Balfour Beatty Rail GmbH in Munich and the Balfour Beatty Rail GmbH signal in Staßfurt.

From 1918 until his death in 1941, he was the House of Commons Member of Parliament for Hampstead ( since 1965 part of the London Borough of Camden ).
