George Metallinos

Georgios Metallinos (Greek Γεώργιος Μεταλληνός, mostly Patir πατήρ with the suffix 'father'; * 1940 in Corfu, Greece) is a Greek theologian, priest, historian, author and university professor.

In 1984 he became a professor at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Athens. There he taught the subjects History of the clergy in the post-Byzantine era, history and theology of worship and Byzantine history. He served from 2004 to 2007, when he became Professor Emeritus, Dean of the Faculty of Theology. Metallinos bears the spiritual title of protopresbyteros ( πρωτοπρεσβύτερος, Archpriest ').
