George William Frederick Osborne, 6th Duke of Leeds KG, PC ( born July 21, 1775July 10, 1838 ) was a British aristocrat (peer ) during the reign of George III. and George IV

George Osborne was the first son of Francis Osborne, 5th Duke of Leeds ( 1751-1799 ) and Lady Amelia ( 1754-1784 ), only daughter of Robert D' Arcy, fourth Earl of Holderness ( 1718-1778 ) and later Baroness Conyers. Osborne had a sister, Mary Henrietta Juliana (1776-1862), and a younger brother, Francis Godolphin ( 1777-1850 ).

George Osborne was after the death of his mother in 1784 Baron Darcy de Knayth and Baron Conyers. After the death of his father in 1799 he inherited the title of Duke of Leeds. In 1827 he was appointed Master of the Horse, and was admitted as a Privy Counsellor (PC) in the Privy Council. That same year, Osborne was also included as a Knight of the Garter (KG) in the Order of the Garter. He was also Lord Lieutenant of the North Riding of Yorkshire and the Governor of the Scilly Islands.

George Osborne married in 1797 Lady Charlotte Townshend ( 1776-1856 ), a daughter of George Townshend, 1st Marquess Townshend, and had by her four children: Francis Godolphin D' Arcy ( 1798-1859 ), Charlotte Mary Ann Georgiana Osborne (1801 - 1836), Amelia Rose and George Thomas William ( 1812-1831 ).
