George William Coleman

George William Coleman ( born February 1, 1939 in Fall River ) is an American clergyman and Bishop of Fall River.

Life

The rector of the Pontifical North American College, Francis Frederick Reh, ordained him a priest on 16 December 1964.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 30 April 2003 as Bishop of Fall River. He received his episcopal consecration, the Apostolic Nuncio to the United States of America, Gabriel Montalvo Higuera, on 22 July of the same year; Co-consecrators were Sean Patrick O'Malley, OFM Cap, Archbishop of Boston, and Daniel Anthony Cronin, Archbishop of Hartford.
