Georgian Soviet Encyclopedia

The Georgian Soviet Encyclopedia (Georgian: ქართული საბჭოთა ენციკლოპედია ), short GSE (Georgian ქსე ) is the first universal encyclopedia in Georgian. At the same time the work is also a separate part of the Great Soviet Encyclopedia.

Edition

The Georgian Soviet Encyclopedia was designed as a multi-volume work, and edited by the Georgian Academy of Sciences, it is in alphabetical order. The first volume was printed in 1965 in Tbilisi. The Encyclopedia now includes 11 volumes and a separate 12 band, which was devoted exclusively to the period of the Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic ( GSSR ). This last band was also deviating printed in Georgian and in Russian.

The main editor was Irakli Abashidze.
