Gerald Andrew Gettelfinger

Gerald Andrew Gettelfinger ( born October 20, 1935 in Ramsey, Harrison County, Indiana) is an American clergyman of the Roman Catholic Church and Bishop Emeritus of Evansville.

Life

Gerald Gettelfinger received on 7 May 1961, ordained priest for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.

Pope John Paul II appointed him bishop on March 11, 1989 in Evansville. The Archbishop of Indianapolis, Edward Thomas O'Meara, gave him on 11 April of the same year the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Thomas J. O'Brien, Bishop of Phoenix, and Daniel Mark the booklet OSB, Bishop of Memphis.

On April 26, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI. its age-related resignation.
