Gerald Mörken

Gerald Mörken ( born November 12, 1959 in Dortmund ) is a former German swimmer.

In the late 1970s he broke Walter Kusch from the best German breaststroke. The European Swimming Championship 1977 in Jönköping, he won three gold medals. He won on both chest and stretches with the medley relay. About 100 meters breaststroke he presented it with 1:02,86 minutes for a new world record. In the World Swimming Championships in Berlin in 1978 he won the bronze medal over 100 meters breaststroke in a final, won the Walter Kush. After he because of the boycott of the Federal Republic was not allowed to participate in the 1980 Olympic Games, he also proved the early 1980s his affiliation with the world-class. He won at the European Championships 1981 in Split as well as 1983 in Rome bronze 100m breaststroke.
