Gerard Blaize

Gerard Blaize ( born August 17, 1946 in Toulouse ) is a French teacher of Aikido, Masakatsu Bojutsu and Jodo. He holds a 7th Dan Aikikai (Tokyo), 5th Dan Masakatsu Bojutsu (awarded by Michio Hikitsuchi ) and the 7th Dan Jodo ( Shinto Muso Ryu ).

Biography

Blaize began to train under the direction of Pierre Brousse judo and aikido. Later he lived five and a half years in Japan, where he deepened his knowledge of Aikido Aikikai Honbu Dojo in Tokyo, among others Kisshomaru Ueshiba and Seigo Yamaguchi.

In 1975, he met his future teacher Hikitsuchi Michio. At the request of Hikitsuchi Michio Gerard Blaize was ever awarded on 26 April 1995 as the first non-Japanese of Kisshomaru Ueshiba 7th Dan Aikikai in Tokyo.
