Gérard de Courcelles

Gérard de Courcelles († July 3, 1927 ) was a French racing driver.

Gérard de Courcelles was active as a driver of cyclecars, when he was obliged in 1923 by Lorraine -Dietrich, whose 3.4 - liter touring cars, the B3 -6, the first 24 - hour race at Le Mans in the 1920s drive. Together with André Rossignol he was eighth in the overall standings and won the class of vehicles between 3 and 5 liters. After a third place overall in 1924 followed in 1925 the overall victory. It was the first victory of Lorraine -Dietrich at Le Mans and both times was again André Rossignol his partner.

In 1926 the duo was separated. While Rossignol with a new team partner Robert Bloch again managed the overall victory to de Courcelles had to be content with partner Marcel Mongin with the second overall.

Gérard de Courcelles was killed in July 1927 at a Grand Prix in France.
