Gerben Löwik

Tanning Löwik ( born June 29, 1977 in Vriezenveen ) is a Dutch racing cyclist.

Career

Tanning Löwik began his cycling career in 2000 in the Dutch professional team Farm Frites. The following year he drove for a year with Rabobank. It was only after he moved to the smaller team Bankgiroloterij came the success. In 2003, he first won a stage of the Tour of Germany and later the Ratings of Rochester Elektrotoer and the Circuit Franco -Belge. In 2004 he moved to chocolate Jacques, where he crashed at Paris- Roubaix. Despite that he could still save with the overall victory in the Tour de la Région Wallonne and a fifth place finish at the HEW cyclassics his season. Since 2005 Löwik continues at the Dutch ProTour team Rabobank again. He took part in the same year, also for the first time at the Tour de France, but did not finish it.

After he was not a new team for the 2011 season, he decided to quit mid-year his career.
