Gerbert de Montreuil

Gerbert de Montreuil (* in the first half of the 13th century, † probably in the second half of the 13th century ) was a French poet and Troubadour.

Gerbert de Montreuil was the author of the famous Roman de la Violette ( also titled: Gérard de Nevers known), one of the most exquisite medieval seals.

This work is distinguished mainly by charming presentation and accurate portrayal of manners. Numerous adaptations and imitations attest to the popularity of this substance; also William Shakespeare ( " Cymbeline " ) and Carl Maria von Weber ( " Euryanthe " ) are among them.
