Gerd Hirzinger

Gerhard Hirzinger ( born January 17, 1945 in Schwandorf, Bavaria ) is a German professor of mechanics, robotics scientist and since 1992 head of the Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics at the German Centre for Aerospace Center in Oberpfaffenhofen.

In 1995, he received the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, in April 2004, he was in Munich awarded the Federal Cross of Merit, and in 2010 with the State Medal for outstanding services to the Bavarian economy.
