Gerd Schneider

Gerd Schneider ( born December 18, 1940 † 29 October 1983) was a German football player.

Career

From 1960, Gerd Schneider played for the 1st team of the 1st FC Kaiserslautern and graduated first from 1960-1963 58 games ( no goals ) in the Oberliga West - then the highest division in German football. In 1961, he was with Kaiserslautern in the DFB Cup final ( 0-2 against Werder Bremen). In the season 1962/63 he qualified with his club for the final round of the German Cup and came there in all six games without scoring for use. The finale could not be reached. From 1963 to 1970, he played 161 times for the FCK in the Bundesliga and was able to score a goal. With 15 DFB Cup games, he clocked up 240 duty stakes and a goal in the jersey of the Palatinate.

The early seventies, was a tailor coach of the amateurs of FCK. 1972/73 he sat for a game (34th Round, 1:4 against Hertha BSC) on the bench the first team as the former coach Dietrich Weise was suspended because he had already signed a contract for next season at Eintracht Frankfurt.

1983 Gerd Schneider was treasurer at FCK and died a short time later, at the age of 42, of a heart attack.
