Gerhard Graf-Martinez

Gerhard Graf- Martinez ( born 1952 in Schorndorf ) is a German flamenco guitarist, composer and author of textbooks for flamenco guitar.

Curriculum vitae

Initial activities as a self-taught musician in rock and blues music. 1982 Foundation of flamenco jazz group " Modo Nuevo " with Capo Mayer ( bass) and Michael Kersting (drums). As a member of the " Peña Flamenca Sierra Blanca Marbella " he held from 1984 to 1987 the " Curso Internacional de la Guitarra Flamenca " in Marbella ( Málaga). From 1987 to 1989 he was nationwide and in the former GDR in a duo with Thomas Friz ( Zupfgeigenhansel ) go. In 1990 he founded Schorndorf Guitar Days, which he headed until 1994. In the years 1989 to 1996, he was invited to many workshops and guitar seminars, including the annual International Guitar weeks Lienz, Salzburg, Vaduz as a lecturer. During the same period, he toured in the ensemble with his wife, the flamenco dancer Lela de Fuenteprado through Europe. More and more he was active in these years as a writer and has since ten publications ( textbooks with CDs, CD-ROMs, DVDs ) published in German and English language worldwide. 2005, he was awarded the German Media Prize education and the Comenius Medal for his DVD "Flamenco Guitar". The notice published in the 2008 DVD " Gipsy Guitar - Rumba flamenco ... y mas" was nominated for the " digital 2009" and received the award of the Comenius EduMedia GPI 2009.
