Gerhard Launer

Gerhard Launer ( born January 8, 1949 in Werneck, district of Schweinfurt, Lower Franconia ) is one of the most famous German aerial photographers.

Life

Gerhard Launer was born in 1949 in Werneck. As a child he was given violin lessons and was invited by the world famous soloists and violin teacher Tibor Varga to a three - month stay to Switzerland at the age of 9 years. At 14, he began studying the violin at the Conservatory in Würzburg. As a result of an accident he had his goal to become a musician, give up.

During his studies as a graduate graphic designer, he obtained the private pilot license - later the commercial pilot license; He thus combined his interests photography and flying and made ​​it his profession: Luftbildfotograf.

He is passionate about the characteristics and structures in nature that you can not see from the ground. The result is his " artistic photos " that are published in calendars and books. With its calendars " structures " and " wind, water, waves," he won at the 1996 Frankfurt Book Fair, a 1st and a 2nd prize, awarded by the Association of German Book Trade. 2003 Gerhard Launer was featured in the television broadcast on ProSieben Galileo to explain how aerial photographs are taken. The Gerhard Launer WFL GmbH in Rottenburg near Würzburg has been active since 1976 in the field of aerial photography ( oblique view ).
