Gerhard Sturmberger

Gerhard Sturm Berger ( born May 1, 1940 in Klagenfurt, Carinthia, † 13 January 1990 ) was an Austrian football player.

Career

The greatest successes in LASK in Gerhard Sturm Bergers career were winning the championship 1964/65 and the OFB Cup in the same year. The Double - season was for the Carinthian also the springboard to the national team: The debut was on March 24, 1965 in a 2-1 away win over France. A total of 43 matches played Sturmberger until his departure in 1973, Austria's defense, the majority of them in the era of team boss Leopold Šťastný when he played as captain. At the end of his career he ran until 1975, three more seasons at Rapid in the highest Austrian league and was then still in smaller Upper Austria and Carinthia clubs activities, among them his tribe ASK Klagenfurt.
