Gerhard Sturmberger

Gerhard Sturm Berger ( born May 1, 1940 in Klagenfurt, Carinthia, † 13 January 1990 ) was an Austrian football player.

Career

The greatest successes in LASK in Gerhard Sturm Bergers career were winning the championship 1964/65 and the OFB Cup in the same year. The Double - season was for the Carinthian also the springboard to the national team: The debut was on March 24, 1965 in a 2-1 away win over France. A total of 43 matches played Sturmberger until his departure in 1973, Austria's defense, the majority of them in the era of team boss Leopold Šťastný when he played as captain.
