Gerlinde Doberschütz

Gerlinde Doberschütz ( born October 26, 1964 in Meiningen as Gerlinde Mey ) is a former rower from the German Democratic Republic, which was 1988 Olympic champion in the four with coxswain.

The rower from SC DHfK Leipzig in 1982 Junior World Champion in the eighth. In 1985, she won her first eight DDR title in the adult class; in the cast Susann Heinicke, Gerlinde Doberschütz, Beatrix Lehmann, Martina Walther, Kathrin tower, Ute rod, Kathrin service beer, Carola Hornig and control woman Sylke Kretzschmar took the boat at the World Rowing Championships in second place behind the aft of the USSR. Since 1985 she has been married to Sven Doberschütz, the brother of rowing Olympic champion Jens Doberschütz. After her career Gerlinde Doberschütz worked as a teacher in a mainstream school in Walldorf / Werra for sports and biology.

For her Olympic gold medal in Seoul Doberschütz was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in gold. In 1986 she was awarded the medal in silver.
