German Development Institute

The German Development Institute (DIE) is a think tank on global development issues and international development policies. This was again confirmed in January 2013 by the ranking of the report " Global Go To Think Tanks ". DIE focusing on cooperation in high-performance research networks with partner institutions in all regions of the world. As part of the nine -month postgraduate program, the THE German and European university graduates preparing for challenging tasks in the development cooperation and aims to qualify future leaders inside and carriers. Foundation

The GDI was founded in 1964 as a nonprofit limited liability company in Berlin and since 2000 its headquarters in Bonn tulip field. The DIE is a member of the Association of departmental research institutions.

Library and Documentation

The DIE- library has the character of a public reference library with 48,000 volumes, 150 national and international journals as well as the most important German and English daily and weekly newspapers. DIE pays special attention to the content analysis and collection of national and international journals. The evaluation is performed based on the research and consulting activities of the Institute and the guidelines of the German Information Network International Relations and Area Studies.

The DIE is a member of the German Information Network International Relations and Area Studies ( FIV ).
