The term refers to a German garden style within the garden architecture, built in the late 18th century from the typical English landscape garden out. Characteristic of him is his clear structure which is broken by the presence of free-ranging livestock, for example, sheep, cattle and goats.

A famous example of this style is the garden park of Luisium at Dessau.
