German State Railway Wagon Association

The German state railway wagon Association (DWV) was an association founded in 1909, the German state railways. The purpose of the association was to ensure a permissive freight cars exchanges between Member railroads. The German state coach association was in contrast to the Prussian state railway carriage association for the whole of Germany to enforce a uniform wagon type and a total of eleven different wagon types developed, this resulted in the wagon, the association type. In addition to complete freight car bogie designs have also been defined.
