U 883 was a submarine of the former German Navy type submarine class IX D/42, which was used in World War II.

History

The base development emerged in 1942, but was the only U 883 entered service in U- boat of the type IXD/42. The sister boat U 884 was severely damaged by air raids still on the factory premises under construction. In general, identical to the type IXD2.
