Germanium ( II) oxide is an inorganic chemical compound of the germanium from the group of oxides.
Production and representation
Germanium ( II) oxide (IV) can be obtained with the hypophosphorous acid -oxide by the reaction of germanium or germanium.
Properties
Germanium (II ) oxide is a yellow solid, which turns brown when cooked in water. An air slowly begins the oxidation at about 550 ° C. It usually contains a few percent of germanium (IV ) oxide and is readily oxidized. The ( IV) oxide product obtained by reduction of germanium with germanium is crystalline and diamagnetic.
