Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest 1963

The German preliminary decision to Euro Vision Song Contest 1963 was held in Frankfurt am Main on 28 February 1963. It was produced by Hessischer Rundfunk.

After the sixth place in the previous year, the person in charge of the Euro Vision Song Contest nominated Hans -Otto Grünefeldt Immenhof actress Heidi Brühl as Grand Prix participant. She sang five songs, among which television viewers were able to vote by post card choice. A total of 83 515 postcards were sent. Of these, 66 % of the audience chose the song Marcel, composed by Charly Niessen.

Heidi Brühl placed ninth at the Euro Vision Song Contest in London.
