Gern

The Gern Underground Station is located underground station of the Munich U -Bahn. It is during the second trunk line in the same district Gern of the Bavarian capital Munich.

The built below the Waisenhausstraße station was opened to traffic on 23 May 1998. It opens up the adjacent residential areas. The underground station is served by the subway lines U1 and U7. A link to other lines of the Munich transport does not exist.

History

The station should now be 185 meters to the south by the plans of 1989. The Government of Upper Bavaria decided a year later that the station due to more balanced station distances and better passenger forecasts should be built facing north, but this meant the rise in construction costs by three million DM and the extension of the construction by several months.
