Gershom Gorenberg

Gershom Gorenberg (* in St. Louis, Missouri, USA) is a U.S. citizen and an Orthodox Jew. He is considered an expert on the Middle East conflict and the history of Israel. He is also a journalist and blogger.

Life

He studied at the University of California, Santa Cruz in Santa Cruz, and received his BA degree in 1967 in religious studies. In 1985, he received his MA in education at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

He is a member of the Editorial Board of The American Prospect, one appearing on a monthly basis American politics magazine. He describes himself as left, skeptical Orthodox Jewish Zionist.

Political motivation

Following the public presentation of the established with funds from the Mulitmilliardärs George Soros organization J street in April 2008, the policy responses were split.
