In office Gerswalde based in the community Gerswalde five municipalities were merged to perform their administrative business.
Geographical location
The Office is located in the south of the district Uckermark in Brandenburg ( Germany ), and borders the city of Templin in the west, to the north by the municipality Nordwestuckermark, to the city Angermuende and the Office Gramzow in the east, and to the district of Barnim in the south.

History
On 27 July 1992, the Minister of the Interior of Brandenburg gave its approval for the formation of the Office Gerswalde. As the time of conclusion of the Office August 1, 1992 has been set. The office was located in the municipality Gerswalde and initially consisted of 10 municipalities in the former county Templin:
The changes in communication, the town of Gross Köpin was assigned by the Ministry to the Office Gerswalde. As of 31 December 2001, Flieth and Stegelitz merged to form the new municipality Flieth - Stegelitz. Also at December 31, 2001 Great Kölpin was incorporated into the municipality Milmersdorf. The communities Friedenfelde, Gerswalde, United Fredenwalde, Kaakstedt and Krohn Horst joined forces with the same date for new community Gerswalde. And further at 31 December 2001 the municipality Ringenwalde the Office Templin country and the community prying the Office Gerswalde the new community Temmen- Ringenwalde formed. The new municipality was assigned to the Office Gerswalde.
