Gert Elsässer

Gert Alsatian ( * 1949 in Innsbruck ) is a former Austrian skeleton bob.

Gert Alsace is one of the pioneers of modern Skeleton sport. The Innsbruck 1981 was both the first Skeleton in Igls European champion as well as a year, first in St. Moritz Skeleton World Champion. The European title he successfully defended in Koenigssee in 1982. In 1983 he won in his last European Championships in Igls behind Alain Wicki again silver. Between 1979 and 1984, Alsace was six times Austrian champion in a row.
