Gesellschaft für Nuklear-Service

The GNS Gesellschaft für Nuklear - Service mbH ( GNS ) is a services in the field of waste management and decommissioning of nuclear facilities specialized company. It operates through subsidiaries, more interim storage facilities for spent fuel and radioactive waste. GNS was created in 1977 from the 1974- founded GNT Society of Nuclear transports mbH.

The GNS is represented nationally and internationally with multiple locations and is headquartered in the Good Straße 67 in Essen. The companies of the GNS group have over 500 employees and reported 2009 sales of 215.9 million euros.

Partner of GNS are the companies E.ON nuclear power ( 48%), RWE Power ( 28%), EnBW subsidiary West German nuclear waste disposal company ( 18.5%) and Vattenfall Europe ( 5.5%).

Main investments

GNS holds a 75% charge of the disposal of German Company for the Construction and Operation of Waste Repositories. Furthermore, there is ever a 100 - % - stake in the transport container storage facility, waste storage facility and the transport container storage facility.

Until September 30, 2004 was one hundred percent participation in the Society of Nuclear - container mbH ( GNB) - specializes in the development and production of nuclear containers (eg CASTOR containers ).
