Gesine Walther

Gesine Walther ( born October 6, 1962 in White Rock, married Gesine Tettenborn ) is a German track and field athlete, who in the 1980s - starting for the GDR - was a successful sprinter.

Life

Gesine Walther reached its sporting highlight at the European Championships in 1982, when she and the GDR - season title in the 4 x 100 - meter race won ( 42.19 s; together with Bärbel Wöckel, Sabine Rieger and Marlies Goehr ).

At the same European Championships she finished fifth in the 100 - meter dash ( 11.38 s ) and fourth in the 200 - meter dash ( 22.60 seconds).

On 3 June 1984 she ran in Erfurt together with Sabine Busch, Dagmar Rübsam and Marita Koch a relay world record over 4 times 400 meters - in the time of 3:15,92 min.
