Géza Imre

Geza Imre ( born December 23, 1974 in Budapest) is a Hungarian fencer.

Life

He fights for the fencing division of the Honved. He is married since 1999 with Beatrix Kökény, which reached 1996 bronze and 2000 silver in handball in the Olympics. The couple has two children.

Achievements

1995 won Géza Imre at the World Championships in The Hague bronze with the team. For his participation in the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta he erfocht bronze in epee individual and finished with the Hungarian team to sixth place. In 1998 he was European champion team in Plovdiv. In 2002, he won the European Championship in Moscow bronze in epee individual.

At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens was awarded the team Krisztián Kulcsár, Gábor Boczkó, Iván Kovács and his silver behind the French team, in individual he has the 21th Place. In 2007 he won at the World Championships in Plovdiv bronze with the same team as in the Olympic Games 2004. 2008 he was in Kiev Single European champion, at the Olympic Games in Beijing took the Hungarian team in the same composition the fifth and Imre in individual ranked twelfth.

In 2009 he won at the World Championships in Antalya silver with the team from Gábor Boczkó, András Redli, Péter Somfai and him. 2010 won his team at the European Championships in Leipzig gold at the World Championships in Paris bronze. 2011 won the team from Boczkó Gábor Péter Szenyi, Péter Somfai and him both at the European Championships in Sheffield as well as at the World Championships in Antalya silver. 2012 at the European Championships in Legnano and at the World Championships in Kiev, he won the team bronze.

2012 at the Olympic Games in London defeated Imre in epee individual in the Round of 32 of the Moroccan Abdelkarim El Haouari, then lost, however, against the eventual silver winner of Bartosz Piasecki, finishing in fourteenth place, the team competition will take place again until 2016 instead. In 2013 he won silver at the European Championships in Zagreb with the team.
