Géza Jeszenszky

Géza Jeszenszky ( born November 10, 1941 in Budapest) is a Hungarian historian, politician and diplomat. He was from May 1990 to July 1994 Foreign Minister of Hungary.

Géza Jeszenszky comes from the noble Jesenský. He attended high school in Budapest and was 15 years old participants of the Hungarian uprising. Later, he studied history at the Eotvos Lorand University in Budapest.

In 1987 he took part in the forum Lakitelek to be, among other things, the Hungarian Democratic Forum was established in MDF. Jeszenszky became a founding member and chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of this new party. When the MDF in 1990 emerged from the first free parliamentary elections as the winner appointed him Prime Minister József Antall as Foreign Minister. Jeszenszky held this position until July 1994. From 1998 to 2002 he was the Hungarian ambassador to the United States of America. Currently (as of 2011) he is Hungarian Ambassador to Norway.
