Ghanaian parliamentary election, 1996

The parliamentary elections in Ghana in 1996 were held on 7 December. At the same time the presidential elections were held. Parliamentary elections are held in a four -year cycle in Ghana.

Since it had come in a constituency to irregularities, 1997 by-elections were held in June. The first open constituency went into these elections to the New Patriotic Party.

Since the Parliament seats were awarded in the 1996 elections only in the direct method, the percentages have only limited value.
