Ghiselin Danckerts

Ghiselin Danckerts (also: Dankers, * 1510 in Tholen (Zeeland), † 1567 in Rome? ) Was a Dutch singer and composer.

About his life is only known that he belonged to the papal chapel as a singer 1538-1565. Until 1567 he was mentioned as a " second-rate singer " in the directories of the chapel, then lose track of him.

From him two motets, madrigals, two and three canons are obtained, where he in his composing technique followed exclusively the old Dutch school and all that time " modernism " refused.
