Gholam Ali Haddad-Adel
Gholam Ali Haddad -Adel (Persian غلامعلی حدادعادل; born 1945 in Tehran ) is an Iranian politician and served from June 6, 2004 to 26 May 2008 Chairman of the Iranian Parliament and was elected with 226 of the 259 deputies present President of the Parliament. He is also a member of the Security Council and Expediency.
Life
Haddad -Adel was born the son of a wealthy tea merchant, received his doctorate before the revolution at the University of Tehran in Philosophy and completed a physics degree with the Master from. He studied Islamic philosophy under Morteza Motahhari, who was a companion of the revolutionary leader Ruhollah Khomeini, but differed in issues of rule of his teachings.
